Structure Report
The Kilborn Cure All Golf Getaway is a unique program that could have everlasting effects on the game of golf. On your website you state in your mission “To impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game” (“The First Tee of Greater Chicago”). In my program, I wish to instill many of these similar values. I am very aware of The First Tee’s nine core values, as they are building blocks that have helped me shape my program. I want to create some of the same values, such as confidence, perseverance, judgment, and respect. In order to create these values in my participants, I will be using the very same tool as The First Tee does, the game of golf. This incredible sport is not that much different than the game of life. I want my participants to be confident and persevere through anything, whether it is a bad round of golf or a tough day at work. Their confidence will be the deciding factor, if they are to achieve their true potentials. All participants not only need to be confident, but have respect for themselves and the game of golf. Mental toughness is a huge aspect to the success I wish to obtain with all partakers in the program. In order to be successful on and off the course, one must use their better judgment.
Since I created the The Kilborn Cure All Golf Getaway I intend to take most of the responsibilities. Making me the director and allowing me to accomplish the duties needed for this program. I will be giving the one on one lessons and personally seeing through each partaker gets the most out of their visits. My duties besides giving the lessons will include managing all the accounting aspects with money and constantly advertising the program. As you can see, my program has a simple structure due to the fact I will only be dealing with one customer at a time for just a short period of time. I will be working with the Royal Links golf course staff as their facilities will be crucial to my success. They already have proper management and a clear understanding of how to run a business. Inside the clubhouse I will have my office containing my only employee, a secretary. My secretary will be setting up the appointments and confirming dates and times with myself, the golf course, and the participants. Therefore my organization is very simple creating a lesser need for more departments. This golf program will fit perfectly with the First Tee of Greater Chicago. Not only could I instill valuable lessons from golf in children, but also in adults. I wish to broaden the First Tee’s goals and that is to branch out to every one of all ages. Yes I want to teach my participants to be better at golf, but also I want to instill character and values. My program will complement the Individual Golf Instructor Program and also the Life Skills Experience Program, as The Kilborn Cure All Golf Getaway will cover both aspects of improving a golfer’s skills and one’s overall character. Since my program will be located in central Illinois it creates a great opportunity for people of Chicago to get away from the city and embrace golf in a new light in my program. In order to develop this program I will need help from the President of the Ambassadors Council and Society. He will need to help exemplify my program on The First Tee of Greater Chicago website and get the word out about a new program within their organization. I will also need help from the fundraising committee as I will need a set of funds to start up my program. The Kilborn Cure All Golf Getaway will be a great addition to The First Tee of Greater Chicago.
